I met Amin Matalqa and Claire Naber (his wife) at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival just one month ago....and of course who do I bump into when I'm on my lunch break at the Dubai International Film Festival...the two of them, along with producer Fadi Sarraf.
So we walk, talk (about the torrential downpours and trying to stay dry), and I learn that the trio hasn't gotten a chance to see any movies yet because they have been too busy pitching their latest project.
Watch an impromptu short interview with Claire (and Amin who forced himself into the shot) as she tells us a bit about their upcoming film. Their upcoming film (
Yasmeen) is a romantic comedy set in Jordan during the winter and was selected by the Dubai International Film Festival as one of its 2009 projects.
Later in the evening, I bumped into them at the red carpet for Christopher Lambert's new film, "Cartagena" and they told me they had just won (top three out of thirteen submissions). Sadly, I was without my flip cam so I couldn't capture the excitement.
