Synopsis
There are paths we take that lead to unexpected destinations, and there are paths that begin in places we never knew we were, and end in places we don’t see coming. In this poignant story by Ruba Nadda, happily married Juliette (Patricia Clarkson) finds one such path after being separated from her husband in the overwhelming city of Cairo.
While waiting for her husband’s return, Juliette experiences the unique beauty of Egypt with his friend Tareq (Alexander Siddig), and the two fall into a tender and effortless friendship.
Clarkson and Siddig perform with quiet restraint yet powerful emotion in a cross-cultural love story that moves gracefully with small gestures and subtle glances saying exactly what can't be said out loud. With a gentle hand, Rubba Nadda guides a tale of two worlds changed forever by a series of small yet profound moments.

نسلك أحيانا دروبا تفضي بنا إلى مقاصد غير متوقعة, في حين ثمة دروب تنطلق من مواقع لم نعرف بوجودها وتنتهي إلى مواقع لم نكن نتوقعها. في القصة التي ترويها المخرجة ربى ندى في هذا الفيلم المؤثر, تجد جولييت (باتريسيا كلاركسون) السيدة السعيدة في زواجها أحد هذه الدروب بعد انفصالها عن زوجها في مدينة القاهرة المزدحمة. وفي أثناء انتظارها لعودة زوجها, تتمتع جولييت بجمال مصر الفريد بمعية صديق زوجها طارق (ألكسندر صديق) فتنشأ بين الإثنين علاقة صداقة تلقائية ورقيقة.
يؤدي الممثلان كلاركسون وصديق دورهما بمشاعر هادئة وقوية لعلاقة حب متعددة الثقافات تتخللها حركات رقيقة ونظرات مبطنة تعبر بصدق عما يعجز اللسان عن النطق به. وتوجه ربى ندى بكل رقة وحنان قصة عالمين تختلجهما لحظات قصيرة الأمد ولكن عميقة الأحاسيس تغيرهما تغييرا جذريا.
