At the end of our inaugural Doha Tribeca Film Festival we announced a series of educational programs and labs that would continue to engage the local community and promote filmmaking talent.
Our aim:
- inspire, engage and educate a new generation of cinema enthusiasts locally
- discover, mentor and fund regional filmmaking talent
- foster community through art & entertainment, encourage open discussion and debate.

Start date: To Be Announced
Submissions: Rolling
DTFF will offer a select group of regional aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to create a film from proposal to production. We will invite regional filmmakers to submit their film proposals to DTFF, of which we will select 5 filmmakers for the first year's educational intensive program.
Working with established filmmakers and film instructors, the chosen filmmakers will create a screenplay from each proposal. Once every two months, the selected filmmakers will have a session where they will workshop their screenplays with each other and their guest instructors.
To guide the filmmakers in between sessions, a mentor will be assigned to each filmmaker who will touch base with their respective mentor once a week to discuss their process and receive feedback. At the 2010 Doha Tribeca Film Festival, the filmmakers will shoot a scene from their developed screenplay, and attend an official Doha Tribeca Film Festival dinner in their honor.
We will be announcing information about our submission process very soon.
