Seven new One Minute Films were screened to a packed theater in the W Hotel, wowing the audience and instilling a sense of pride in our first time filmmakers.
The night certainly proved that our "second generation" of first time filmmakers had successfully achieved an impressive collection of films in an even shorter period of time.
Community Outreach Programmer and award-winning filmmaker Scandar Copti, who ran both the first and second One Minute Film workshops, spoke of how much he had learned from the experience.
The filmmakers, aged 16-40, were offered basic instruction but made to deal with the entire process on their own. The themes in their films are strongly based on having to delve into their emotional depths, and the results are quite riveting.
